(Over the next few weeks, I will be thanking the St. Albert electors who have chosen to support me through their signing of my nomination papers.)
Carol is a force of nature.
Growing up in St. Albert, Carol’s name was one that I was always familiar with. From her four terms on City Council, to her time as Cultural Director for the City of St. Albert, to her role as the Executive Director of the Arts and Heritage Foundation, she has been a champion for the city and our arts community.
I first met Carol when she presented to the Community Services Advisory Board on behalf of VASA; her enthusiasm and drive as the VASA President are contagious. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to meet with her to learn more about VASA, and about the commitment required to serve on council. Carol is not only a talented artist and jewellery-maker, but also a role-model for women entering politics.
Carol, thank you for your support, and thank you for sharing your experience from your time on City Council. And thank you for having us all in stitches the vast time I visited!
(Did you know that you can walk through the artist studios at VASA, and see all the work displayed in the gallery? Or take classes from some of their wonderful artists? I took one of Samantha Chapelsky's classes last year! Check it out the next time you're in downtown St. Albert, or when you're at the St. Albert Farmers' Market!)
