It’s wild that I’ll be attending my 7th organizational meeting this week - the last six years have flown by. After the org meeting, we go right into a Special Council Meeting to hear the presentation of the budget. The budget document is embargoed until it’s presented by the CAO, so my comments about it will be published after the meeting.
Org Meeting Highlights
Deputy Mayor roster: Each member of Council is assigned two months of the year as DM - I’ll be assigned to January/February unless something unexpected happens during our meeting.
Legislative appointments: Council met a couple weeks ago to determine legislative appointments. Again, unless something very strange happens during our meeting, I’ll be appointed by to Homeland Housing for my last 2-year term, I’ll be back on the Emergency Management Advisory Committee & Youth Advisory Committee, and I’ll be on the Inter-City Forum on Social Policy for the first time.
